Product Information
Board Game Geek Rating: 5.99. Avg Player Rating: 7.26. Players: 2 - 8. Published in 2013. This is the retail edition of the Axis & Allies: WWI 1914 board game. It's not World War II! In 'The War to End All Wars', progress was measured in yards. The Italians sided with the Allies, while Turkey, at the heart of the Ottoman Empire, was part of the Central Powers along with Imperial Germany and the Austro - Hungarian Empire. The major Allies, or the Entente, included the British Empire, France, Italy, the United States, and Imperial Russia. In Axis & Allies: WWI 1914, players command a major power with unique infantry sculpts. Other sculpts represent artillery, tanks, aircraft, and naval forces. As designer Larry Harris says, it's a different kind of war game without massive continental sweeps. You'll need to deploy your resources of men and artillery wisely. Despite the box saying 1 - 3 hours, the Avalon Hill website states 8 playing hours. Buy this game online at TheGameSteward, and a large part of your spending will back new Kickstarter games. To play Axis & Allies: World War I 1914, first pick a major power to command. Each power has its own unique infantry sculpts and a set of artillery, tank, aircraft, and naval pieces. The goal is to wage war and outmaneuver your opponents, but remember, progress is slow compared to World War II games. You need to deploy your resources of men and artillery carefully. When it comes to playing time, don't rely on the box. Plan for about 8 hours as stated by the Avalon Hill website. As for storage, keep the game pieces in a dry and cool place to prevent damage to the sculpts. If you have any purchase questions or need game advice, just reach out to The Game Steward.
